Adoption

Many healthy, unwanted or abandoned cats or kittens received by the Hobart Cat Centre are available for adoption. Right now we have lovely cats and kittens looking for a home and they would love to become part of your family.

Kitten adoption

Every spring, the Hobart Cat Centre is inundated with unwanted kittens due to owners not de-sexing their cats. Sadly if they are not adopted, euthanasia is sometimes the only humane option.

By adopting a kitten from the Hobart Cat Centre, you can help to reduce the number of unwanted kittens which are destroyed each year.

All cats and kittens available for adoption have been microchipped, de-sexed, vaccinated, wormed and had a general health check by a veterinarian.

Companion Cats - Adopting a mature cat.

The Centre also has many long-term residents who are mature cats and make wonderful "companion cats" for families and people of all ages. If you don't have the time to train a young kitten, adopting an adult cat as a companion may be a suitable option for you.

Adoption costs:

  • Males: $125-$145. (prices effective 10th November 2008)
  • Females: $155-$175. (prices effective 10th November 2008)
