Adoption

Right now we have fabulous cats and kittens looking for homes and they would love to become part of your family. All cats and kittens available for adoption have been microchipped, de-sexed, vaccinated, wormed and have had a general health check by a veterinarian. They also come with a two week health promise for extra peace of mind.

The adoption fee of $170 covers all of this for you and in addition, you are supporting the work of the Centre ... so through your adoption, you're not just gaining a friend for life, you're also helping other cats find safe haven and love.

Kitten adoption

Every Summer, the Hobart Cat Centre is inundated with kittens due to owners not de-sexing their cats. Sadly if they are not adopted, euthanasia is sometimes the only humane option.

By adopting a kitten from the Hobart Cat Centre, you can help to reduce the number of unwanted kittens which are destroyed each year.

Adopting a mature cat.

The Centre also has many mature cats who will make wonderful compnaions for families and people of all ages. If you don't have the time to train a young kitten, adopting an adult cat as a companion may be a suitable option for you. Kittens are our blank canvasses while our mature moggies are our masterpieces.

Complete our adoption survey and bring it with you when you're considering adoption. This will help us find the perfect feline match for you.

To find you next feline family member visit the Hobart Cat Centre at 12 Self's Point New Town, and spemd time with the cats and kittens available for adoption. View our opening hours. We recommend that should you wish to adopt from the Centre, you should either bring a carry cage with you or purchase one from the Centre at the time of adoption to transport your new family member home safely. It really is the safest option when taking a new feline friend home. Even the trip to the car can be a terrifying experience. A good quality carrrier is liteally an investment for a lifetime. You have no idea how much you'll use it ... trips to the vet, trips to boarding, trips to relatives ... it will keep your cat safe and sound while on the road or out and about. The Centre also has a limited number of carriers for hire for a deposit of $20.
