Well the second Hobart Cat Centre Quiz Night has been run and won but the event wasn't without some serious intellectual and creative challenges along the way. Line honours in the hard-fought battle of the brains were taken by the aptly-named Imbibo Ergo Sum, but not before they encountered some extemely stiff competition from other teams who were tested on their knowledge of everything from popular culture to geography. In addition to getting those intellectual juices flowing, quizzers were required to draw on the creative ones as well in the development of a spectacular cat sculpture which captured all the enigmatic and ethereal beauty of the feline ... sadly these elude most teams but the result was an absolute cornucopia of colour and imgination. But of course the important aspect of this event was the fact that it raised almost $5000 for our furry friends, which is a truly Herculean effort on the part of everyone concerned. We, and our cat companions, must say a huge thank you to all our sponsors, guests, staff, volunteers and committee members for ensuring our second quiz night was a runaway success. We look forward to seeing you at the next brain boggling installment. |

The Tasmanian Entertainment Guide 2010/11 is now available from the Centre. Books this year are $55.00 and on average, a person with a book will save over $650.00 per year on discounts at restaurants, cafes and attractions. The best part is that the Cat Centre earns $11.00 from every book sold...a WIN/WIN! |

The Hobart Cat Centre is now microchipping cats for just $25.00 per feline. A chip is very small - about the size of a rice grain which is implanted under the skin at the nape of the neck. Every chip contains it's own unique 15 digit code which is linked via a National database to your pet's details. If puss goes wandering and is taken to a vet or shelter, they can scan puss and reunite you! Call the Centre to make a booking 62782111...chipping available 7 days a week. |
