The Hobart Cat Centre Inc., is a self-funded, apolitical, non-profit organisation, which exists to shelter and humanely deal with unwanted kittens and cats, and to work with and educate all of the Tasmanian community on methods and benefits of responsible cat ownership.

The Hobart Cat Centre is recognised as a charitable institution by the Australian Taxation Office.

The Hobart Cat Centre's original functions have expanded to include a range of services, including trapping, boarding and adoption of healthy, wormed, de-sexed and temperament tested cats and kittens.

The Hobart Cat Centre also seeks to educate the public about responsible cat ownership, which will lead to a reduction in the number of unwanted and/or feral cats and kittens.

Our program of services is further enhanced by our brand new shelter in New Town, Tasmania. As a free community service the Centre receives healthy cats and kittens, which may become available for adoption. We also provide first-class cat boarding facilities.

The Cat Centre is able to provide a high level of service due to kind and generous donations and bequests from the general public. Monies are also raised through membership fees, two successful op-shops at Margate and Glenorchy and through boarding and adoptions. Money raised is directed to the care of the thousands of cats and kittens who come through the Centre's doors each year.
